I also spent the afternoon shooting my favorite subject, while he did what he does best... play with his trucks. Here are a few pics from that wonderful day.

A Boy and His Trucks (and Mother's Day)
Mother's Day was a beautiful day! The weather was warm and we spent a nice, calm morning at the farmer's market. Later, I got out for a mani/pedi, then we played and grilled in the backyard in the afternoon. I couldn't have asked for more!

Brady's First Shiner
Easter 2011
Easter?, you ask. It's June! Yes, yes, I know. I could have just let it pass and not post anything, but I want this to be a living baby book for Brady, so it's important that I include it.
This was our second Easter in California. Holidays are hard here; we miss spending them with our families. Last year, we were lucky enough to have Matt's friend Dave Tribbey and his family come visit. This year, we went to the Kirkpatrick's.
It was a lovely morning; everyone brought a dish and we had brunch outside. The kids even had an Easter egg hunt in the backyard. We're very lucky to have made such wonderful friends out here and were happy to spend this holiday with "family".

Quick Overnight Trip
A couple weeks ago, our friends Becky and Alex came to LA for a visit, so we met up with them halfway in Paso Robles for a night. The entire trip only lasted only 24 hrs. (including 2.5 hr drive each way), but Brady was a real trooper. He even hung out and watched Caillou while the adults did a wine tasting at Justin Vineyard (we HIGHLY recommend a visit here!)
After wine tasting (or in Brady's case, water tasting), we had an amazing dinner and stayed at a beautiful hotel called La Bellaserra. Brady was in heaven taking a bath in our jacuzzi tub, and on Sunday, he even got to swim in the heated pool with Daddy.
Brady gave our quick trip to Paso Robles two thumbs up. Mom & Dad too! While it's no Napa Valley, Paso Robles has several wineries and a super cute downtown area, without the high ticket prices.

A Soccer Star is Born
I'm still catching up on posts, so please bear with me! Last month, Brady started Daddy & Me soccer. It's actually called Mommy/Daddy & Me, but let's get real... soccer is Daddy's thing, even at a 2 year old's level.
You might be thinking that soccer "lessons" for a 2 year old is ridiculous, but it's been a really fun experience. In addition to learning the very basic fundamentals of soccer, he's also learning to listen and follow instructions, and Coach Pam reinforces colors and shapes. The boy has one heluva soccer stance too!
Only a couple more lessons and I think he'll be ready for his first pair of toddler cleats!

Spring Break with the Stetzers
My parents, Mike, and his girlfriend Mariel came to visit us at the beginning of March. The weather here had been gorgeous in Feb., so it only figured that it would take a bit of a dive when they were in town (just our luck!) Even though they couldn't spend the entire week in shorts, we managed to get out and about, and show them what life in Mountain View/the Bay Area is like for the Eatherton clan.
We covered a lot of ground in 6 days... we took them to the local farmer's market, Stanford's campus, the Oakland Zoo, Santa Cruz beach, and a few local parks and eateries. While Brady was in school, we even managed to spend a full day in San Francisco checking out the sites, as well as a rainy day in Sausalito. Brady couldn't get enough 24/7 attention and was sad to see them go (us too!) Here are a few photos from their trip.
